Recognizing food allergy symptoms

Do you suffer from allergies? Food allergies, environmental allergies? Boy, I did. I knew I had seasonal allergies for years, with all the lovely symptoms, but I didn’t know I had food allergies until my 50s. I’m guessing pregnancies and not eating properly for 40 odd years probably had a hand in that. Who knew that you could develop allergies anytime in your life? Well, you can and I did. Once I knew that I was allergic to the proteins in dairy and gluten, I immediately made drastic changes in my diet. Unfortunately, my health didn’t improve immediately. I had so much damage that it has taken quite a while to heal but I am doing it!

I would love to share a bit of my journey with you and help you figure out how to make those changes in your life so you can feel great and love life. I can give you great tips for eating out when traveling; how to change things in your environment (at least where you live) to help lessen the exposures to common allergens; and share some practical tips to make life with allergies easier in general.

What are some of the symptoms of food allergies? They can range from:

  • Stuffy nose

  • Skin rash

  • Discomfort in your gut

  • Itchy throat

  • Diarrhea or vomiting.

  • And more

Symptoms can start out light, but over time worsen. My symptoms were being diagnosed as a lot of other things by the doctors and I wasn’t getting any relief. After blood tests showed allergies to the proteins in gluten and dairy I started an elimination diet to determine any other food sensitivities I had.

It is important to do an elimination diet to determine your sensitives. Once determined you can begin to heal your gut. Contact me to learn more about the elimination diet and how you can start your healing process today!
