Time for “Spring Cleaning”
Spring is typically a time for new beginnings and cleaning out what has accumulated over the winter months. I don’t know about you, but this stay-home mandate has offered a great opportunity to do that cleaning out thing early. At the same time, it has NOT helped me with my eating and health so I have actually been “accumulating” some unwanted things. I have been wanting to eat comfort foods way more than is healthy so I have accumulated a couple of extra pounds, bloating, fluff around the middle. Do you know what I’m talking about?

Guidelines include eliminating these
Caffeine
refined/artificial Sugar
Processed food
Alcohol
Gluten
Dairy
Adding as many of these as you like:
Morning:
8oz Green tea or detox water
Fruit and veggie Smoothie
Snack
Nuts
Raw veggies with hummus
Lunch
Raw salad with vinaigrette
Veggie soup
Snack
Smoothie
Dinner
Veggie stir fry
Buddha bowl
Snacks:
Any amount of fruit or veggies
Nuts and nut butters
Be sure you are drinking water all day, at least half your body weight in ounces! If you find it hard to get that much water down, I have some great infused water recipes to help with that..
Do not eat for at least 3 hours before you go to bed!
The key is to make sure you are fueling your body correctly. Don’t feel like you can’t eat! Make sure you are eating lots of fruit, veggies, and protein sources such as nuts and nut butters, avocado, beans, and quinoa.
